Conni Dawson, known as The Street Harpist, has been a professional musician and performer for over a decade, and has recently also taken up the mantle of traditional Irish storyteller.
She is seeking to reconnect people with the history and heritage of their local area through music, with her 2019 national tour Around Ireland in 80 Tunes, and through storytelling, in her new Storylines tour.
Storylines brings traditional Irish myths and folktales home and encourages people to look at their landscapes with a new appreciation for the heritage and history embedded in the rocks and streams and trees around us. From the fate of the goddess Cliodhna in Glandore Harbour, to the love life of the Tuatha de Danann in the Galtee mountains, these stories will open your eyes to the magic and myth all around you.
The only other thing we request/ recommend from you guys is that you pre-book your ticket online (which carries a €1 booking fee). This is because, we’re a small venue with capacity for only a certain number of people. It makes everything a lot more straight forward if we know how many people to expect in advance and means we can manage people turning up on the night without creating hassle for anyone in the event we end up having more people than we can accommodate. If that happens, the people who have committed to pre-booking will be given priority. So if you don’t mind, we’d appreciate it if you could pre-book.
Cancellations & Refunds: A minimum of 7 days notice ahead of the event date is required for refund requests. Refunds cannot be guaranteed if the request is made with less than 7 days notice. If the event is cancelled by the organiser, refunds will be issued automatically.
Please Note: The venue operates a pop up café which offers a range of liquid refreshments in exchange for CASH ONLY on the night. The Richmond Revival is in the centre of Fermoy, easily accessible via Bus Éireann. There are also a number of ACCOMMODATION options available onsite. We offer budget single, twin or double rooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen. There is also a self contained two bedroom suite with private bathroom, kitchenette and lounge. Campers and camper vans are welcome. Email the venue directly for further information.
Please further note: by purchasing a ticket to this event, as part of your admission fee, you are effectively joining The Richmond Revival Cultural Activity Appreciation Club. The rules of the club are binding — Richmond House is a private family home and people are expected to respect this — No alcohol is to be brought onto the premises — Basic common sense, decency and kindness is expected from all members. Breaches of these rules will result in immediate suspension of club membership and admittance. We pride ourselves on having beautiful evenings of exquisite original creative music for all to enjoy so lets keep it up!
