Biig Piig has announced a headline show at Cyprus Avenue this July.
The new album from the Cork-born songsmith centres on the angel number 11:11, a divine sequencing used to guide deeper spiritual exploration. It's become something of a focal point in Biig Piig's life of constant flux, offering up a finely-wrought debut that straddles the artist's past adventures, with one foot anchored the present moment.
“11:11 has been a recurring number throughout my life,” Biig Piig comments, “especially whilst writing this record. Whenever I see it, I take a moment to reflect and dream about the possibilities ahead.
"This album captures various points in my journey, symbolizing synchronicity—the idea that things happen for a reason, exactly as they should. Through the highs and lows, this process has been exactly what it needed to be. 11:11 represents my reflections over the past two years, and the grounding I've found along the way.”
The album greets listeners with the crystalline first single 'Favourite Girl,' a flirtatious and breezy blast of funk in the face of someone holding back from commitment. Penned by Biig Piig, with frequent collaborators Zach Nahome and Maverick Sabre, its hyperfeminine world of bold colours and synthetic textures recalls a more playful moment amidst the cerebral searchings of 11:11.
