Arvo Pärt is one of the most influential and widely performed living composers today, known for his highly original ‘tintinnabuli’ musical language inspired by the resonances of church bells.
Chamber Choir Ireland celebrates the great Estonian composer's 90th birthday with a programme of his works conducted by Nils Schweckendiek, Artistic Director of the Helsinki Chamber
Choir.
The programme was selected by by Pärt's long-time artistic collaborator—and former Artistic Director of Chamber Choir Ireland—Paul Hillier. It spans five decades of Pärt's life, exploring the deep stillness and rich spirituality of his work, from 'Habitare fratres in unum'—a serene hymn to unity and peace—to the restrained and deeply moving 'Morning Star'.
